Door County, and Ming's wedding

From the top of Eagle Tower, Peninsula State Park

Neither of us had ever been to Wisconsin. Ming and Kyra's wedding finally gave us a reason, so we made a trip of it.

We started in Milwaukee at the Harley-Davidson Museum, where Serial Number One sits in a glass case of its own: the oldest Harley-Davidson known to exist, built in 1903.

After the wedding we slowed down. We stayed at The American Club in Kohler and gave ourselves an afternoon at the Kohler Waters Spa.

Last came Door County, for the fall color. We saw it from the ground and from the top of Eagle Tower in Peninsula State Park, looking out over the treetops to the water.

Apurba sat under the maples and painted them, right there on the grass.

Somewhere in there we found Happy Coffee, a coffee shop with the right attitude.

And then the traditional fish boil. It ends with the boil-over: a splash of kerosene on the fire, a tower of flame, and the pot boils over.
